Text : Medical PTFE film can be said to be a material with a low coefficient of friction in solid materials. Due to its special application, the friction coefficient is very strict. Once the friction coefficient is too large, it is likely to affect the performance and quality of the product, causing huge losses to the enterprise. Therefore, in order to avoid the above problems, the scientific and accurate detection of the friction coefficient of the PTFE membrane is an indispensable part of the enterprise before it enters production.
Below, we have completely recorded the entire experimental process, providing a reference for each company to monitor the friction coefficient of PTFE membrane.
Preparation :
- Cut two 60mm x 100mm PTFE membranes in the center according to the sample provided by the customer
- Inspect the surface of the specimen to ensure that it is flat, wrinkle-free, dust-free, fingerprint-free or scratch-resistant and that may affect the coefficient of friction.
- Check the horizontal test rig to ensure smoothness; the slider has a square bottom surface of 40 cm 2 area, and the bottom is covered with felt to avoid the sample from pressing out wrinkles during the experiment, affecting the experimental results.
Experimental process :
- One of the sample surfaces is lifted up and flat on the horizontal test bench, and the two are in parallel directions; the other sample surface is downward, the slider is wrapped, and the sample is fixed on the front and upper surfaces of the slider with tape.
- Place the slider lightly over the specimen and let it stand for 15 seconds to ensure full contact.
- Set the parameters, start the instrument, pull the slider and the sample through the left force sensor to make the two move relative to each other.
- The first peak displayed by the instrument is the static friction force F s , and the average of the forces within 6 cm of relative movement (excluding static friction) is the dynamic friction force F d .
- The system automatically prints and outputs experimental results, which is convenient for users to analyze.
- Repeat the above experiment to ensure the accuracy of the results.
